A landscape plan and material samples overlooking a composed outdoor space

Landscape design · Auckland

Start with a clear response to the site.

Landscape design brings buildings, outdoor use, movement, materials and planting into one considered direction for residential, commercial and shared properties before work begins.

AUCKLAND WIDERESIDENTIAL & COMMERCIAL

What is landscape design?

It is the process of understanding a property and setting a coherent direction for how the outdoor space should work, feel, be built and develop over time.

Who is it for?

It suits residential, commercial and body corporate properties where layout, levels, access, outdoor use, materials, planting or staging need to work together.

Plan before committing

Resolve the important relationships on paper first.

A useful design does not add complexity for its own sake. It helps clarify the choices that affect how the space will be used, built, planted and cared for.

01

Connection and use

How gardens, terraces, paths and outdoor areas connect with the building and with each other. A shared entrance garden, for example, needs planting and clear access that work for residents, visitors and ongoing care.

02

Levels and movement

Where people move, pause and gather, and how steps, edges and changes in level may shape the experience.

03

Materials and character

A practical material direction that belongs with the property and supports the intended use.

04

Planting and time

Planting structure and choices that respond to site conditions and how the landscape should develop.

Design in the wider journey

A plan that can lead naturally into build, planting and care.

01

Understand the place

Design the response

03

Build the foundations

Plant the landscape

05

Establish & care

Prepare for the first conversation

Start with what you know about the place.

You do not need a finished brief. A useful starting point is the property, what is not working, what you want the outdoor space to support and any information already available.

  1. Photos or existing plans, if you have them
  2. The parts of the property you want to change
  3. How you want to use the outdoor space
  4. Your timing, priorities and budget comfort

Good to know

Landscape design questions.

Does every landscaping project need a full design?

No. The useful level of design depends on how many decisions connect and how much change is proposed. A focused planting plan may be enough for one property; a larger transformation may benefit from a more complete landscape response.

Who provides the landscape and planting design?

Chris / Neda Landscaper leads general landscape design and planting design. The exact scope is confirmed after the property and intended work are understood.

What happens if consent-related input is needed?

Stable Group may be brought in where council consent or other professional consent-related input is required. Neda Landscaper does not present that specialist work as part of every design.

Can the design continue into construction and planting?

Yes, design can continue into construction, planting, establishment and care where those stages suit the project. The delivery scope is confirmed for each site.

Where does Neda Landscaper work?

Neda Landscaper works Auckland wide. Project fit and travel are confirmed during the first conversation.
